The play “The Kinds Of Sex You Might Have At College” targets 1st Year students

NUI Galway has organised a play that is touring universities and colleges in Ireland, with a view to developing it for second-level students and younger age groups in the future.

The play has been described as “explicit and obscene” by attendees at the performance at GMIT Castlebar on 30 September 2019.

The play is produced by Charlotte McIvor, Lecturer in Drama and Theatre Studies at NUI Galway and supported by others at NUI Galway, including Pádraig McNeela, Lecturer in Psychology.

Martina Burke, a parent and educator for the past 25 years, spoke on a number of radio shows expressing her concern at the explicit nature of the content.

NUI Galway was asked to come on air and to engage with the concerns raised, but has declined to do so.
